ABOUT JACK LAMBERT
Hi, I’m Jack, a writer based in Bath with a passion for telling all kinds of stories. I have experience in both playwriting and screenwriting and love both equally. I focus on small-scale stories with two or three characters, minimal scenes and locations, and a big focus on relationships, dialogue and character development.

I’ve been focusing on my writing since 2020, working mainly for theatre and film. I started writing seriously during COVID when I co-founded Bladud Productions with fellow students to create and produce our own work. That experience solidified my love for storytelling and made me realise that writing was what I truly wanted to pursue.
Several of my plays have been publicly performed, and I’ve self-published the scripts for two of them. I’ve also written and produced two short films, one of which was given a 7 out of 10 at the Sunday Shorts Film Festival. My aspiration is to become a full-time scriptwriter, and I’m constantly working and practicing to grow and strengthen my writing, through projects and challenges that push me in new creative directions.

Beyond playwriting and screenwriting, I’m always eager to try new and different forms of storytelling. My latest project is entitled 'Monologue Mondays', wherein I write and share a new monologue both here and on my social media every week. Each monologue is under five minutes, featuring a different character, genre, or style. They’re free for anyone to use, and I love seeing how actors and performers bring them to life. This keeps me working to a regular deadline, and each week is a new challenge starting from the ground up.

I'm also currently working on co-writing and developing a limited TV series focusing on a World War I veteran managing a struggling football team while confronting his past, and am taking part in Deadlines For Writer's' 12 Short Stories challenge, requiring a new short story each month, with a different prompt and a short story. This challenges me, not only to work with deadlines, but also to write outside of my comfort zone in a medium I don't frequently work in, and in genres I wouldn't necessarily try. On that note, I also recently challenged myself by stepping outside my usual genres to write a fantasy script for the NYC Midnight Screenwriting Challenge - a genre I typically avoid but took on to push my boundaries and try something new.
When I’m not working or writing, I enjoy watching and playing football, watching documentaries about almost anything, and occasionally spiralling into research rabbit holes about either World War.

If you’d like to collaborate, use one of my monologues/scripts, or just chat about writing, feel free to get in touch! I'd love to talk to you!
